Episode 8 Perfect

Everyone wishes for things to be perfect. Unfortunately, nothing ever is.

This last episode of Season 2 is perfectly imperfect.

The Gang to the rescue. I love how they all come together and go to help Tara when she calls for help. What a great friend group!

Coach convincing Ajayi to text Frouq and get him to the prom by saying that they need another chaperone is pure genius. What a great wing woman! I love their friendship so much.

I love this Tao and Nick conversation. I love that these two have become so close. And I love that Nick knows he can talk to Tao about his worries about Charlie and Tao will understand and listen. Nick needs that. Because it’s about to get bad.

Stay tuned for Season 3 to see what I’m on about…

This is one of my fav scenes of the whole series.

How the globe on Charlie’s dresser is dark the entire time that Nick is alone in the room, waiting for Charlie. Charlie making Nick close his eyes before he enters the room because he is nervous about Nick’s reaction.

Then, the minute Charlie tells Nick that he can open his eyes and Nick sees him. The way Nick’s face lights up, as does the globe - the symbolism is absolutely gorgeous.

What a clever way to show that Charlie is Nick’s entire world.

Isaac breaks my heart in this scene. I can tell he is dreading going to this dance. Knowing that all his friends will have dates, knowing that they will wonder why he doesn’t and that he has no idea how to explain it to them and make them understand… It’s so raw and real. And familiar. This is something I still struggle with. Trying to make people, who think that falling in love is what everyone should do, understand that is not something that you want or desire - it’s daunting and feels impossible.

Charlie dragging Isaac up for a prom photo of the four of them is so sweet. I love Charlie and Isaac and their friendship. I love how Charlie wants Isaac to know he is not alone and that they will all be supportive and understanding.

I love that Otis, Sai, and Christian approach Nick and give their support to him and Charlie. You can see just how relieved and happy this makes Nick.

They’re so freaking adorable and I just can’t!!

Isaac going to the library to get the book on being Asexual is everything!

Darcy finally opening up to Tara and telling her everything is so heartfelt. I am so happy she finally did.

And I am so happy that the group is making sure that Isaac feels included and loved. Without even being told, they know that Isaac is feeling some type of way and it is their responsibility to change that.

Nick telling the story of Rugby camp when he was 12 and realizing that he had a crush on his instructor is so real. I am pretty sure that most Queer people have this. There have been many times, since realizing that I am AroAce, that a memory will come back to me and I’ll be like ‘Oh, that’s why.’

Charlie finally opening up and finally telling Nick about the bullying and how bad it was is so heartbreaking. But I am so glad that he did. Charlie needed to do this. And it opens the door for complete healing. Which we will see in Season 3.

Speaking of… That’s a wrap on Season 2. Up next, Season 3 and only 8 more episodes to go.

See ya next time for Love
