Episode 8 Love Is A Devil

Love might be the Devil, but it’s protective as fuck in this magical episode.

Izzy goes little sister protective and defends Jace against her mom.

Max goes little brother protective and tells Alec what mom says about his boyfriend.

Alec goes boyfriend protective and defends Magnus against his mom. Yep, her again.

Jace goes Parabatai protective when defends Alec against Magnus. Unnecessarily , but it’s still sweet.

Magnus goes Warlock with a big heart protective when he defends all the Lightwoods, Clary, and Simon from a curse.

And there’s a very sweet Soft Malec moment. And I am a sucker for Soft Malec!

I love Izzy calling out Maryse! Let her do it, Alec. Maryse deserves every last word!

Max - Mom doesn’t like you having a Warlock boyfriend.

Alec - And you?

Max - I don’t care.

I love Alec and Max’ relationship. Alec is so good with him.

Alec - That’s sort of the point of the party. So she can see that this, us… it’s not going away.

Magnus - You sure about this?

Alec - Why wouldn’t I be?

Magnus - Then I better get to work.

Magnus’ smile, when Alec says they’re not going away - it’s so sweet and adorable.

And Alec’s smile when Magnus agrees to throw the party! Gods, I just love these two so much!

Oh Clary! My dear sweet firecracker. I know you’re hurting after Jace and your mom, and that’s why I fear your intentions toward Sweet Simon are not entirely pure.

How much do I love Alec standing up to Maryse, and defending Magnus! So damn hot, Alec! The scene is almost perfect. I do wish that Alec would have said that Magnus is family when Maryse insisted that the party was only meant for family. But maybe it’s too soon for that…

Maryse, you really need to get your priorities straight.

Though the character is a perfect depiction of the world right now - the things people will sacrifice all for politics and following a corrupt system.

The look on Magnus’ face when Jace says he knows that he and Alec went to the next level because they’re Parabatai is so freaking hilarious!

Jace’s response is equally hilarious. And I love how passionately he defends Alec - even though he doesn’t have to. But he doesn’t know that, yet.

Until Magnus is able to assure him of his feelings for Alec by saying “You think I’d invite Maryse Lightwood to my home for just anyone?”

Harry and Dom and so fun together!

“I heard you like to drink.”

Haha, Oh Maryse. We have to give her this moment because that’s funny.

This party looks like so much fun. And I need a statue of the Angel Rune! Not an ice sculpture, a statue.

I love how Magnus calls Clary ‘Biscuit’ And how he tries to counsel her. He’s so big hearted and loving. And I need Alec to take extra care with him. Jace told Magnus that Alec is sensitive. Well, Magnus is, too, Jace.

Listen! Max is adorable, but the kid is so stoic. Does he get excited about anything?

As much as I love Harry’s natural beautiful brown eyes - I wish we would have gotten to see Magnus’ gold cat eyes a bit more. Bu I get that they were contacts and troublesome for Harry.

How cute is Alec when Magnus is show Max his yellow eyes, though!

The look on Jace’s face when Max says that Jace is not his brother because Maryse said so, is so heartbreaking. As if this guy is not already having an existential crisis.

I see you walking away, Magnus. My big hearted Warlock really hates conflict.

“I met a certain Warlock who cared enough about a lost Vampire to help him regain his faith.’

I love that Raphael is talking about Magnus!

“This is an elegant affair! Not the Real Housewives of Idris!”

Magnus truly is my favorite being of all time.

This double exposure of Alec and Clary and their scene together haunts me. Its so heartbreakingly beautiful. Sometimes I truly surprise myself with my ‘talents’

ALEC! NOOOOOOO!!

Praise be to Hecate for Magnus!!

Magnus just calmly performing the counter spell while the Shadowhunters give into the curse and argue is such a perfect depiction of this group. And so totally my Roman Empire.

I just love how quickly Magnus’ mind works! We would so be besties.

You know, if he were real…

Oh Iris, you fucked up now. Magnus is pissed!

I just love a pissed off, powerful Magnus!

This moment between Alec and Clary is so sweet. It’s nice to see them getting along. Even if it is just for a minute.

And I am glad to see Maryse come to her senses. And that she apologizes to Jace. This was the beginning of Marye’s redemption arc. And boy, does it pay off!
