Episode 2 The Descent Into Hell Isnt Easy
Suspicious Alec is still fun. Izzy is still a badass. Jace thinks he is cooler than he is. Simon is something else. And Magnus makes a run for it.
This show just doesn’t believe in slow burns or buildups. And I fucking love it!
That look on Simon’s face, when the Institute reveals itself to him, is precious. Get used to it, Sweet Simon. You’re going to be spending a lot of time there.
Listen! I love this dynamic between Simon and Jace. Absolutely fantastic and hilarious. I get the feeling that Dominic is like Dylan O’Brien - he just has chemistry with everyone he works with.
And this whole scene is so well done. Jace teasing Izzy about her cooking while Izzy looks at Simon like he’s the fly in her web. And Alec just hanging in the background, smirking! Honestly, the 4 of them are so magical and I just love everything about it. It’s a great tease scene to show just what we are getting into for the next 3 seasons.
Poor Hodge. So willing to help Clary and Jace, even while that Circle Rune burns him, is so impressive.
‘The Little Girl.’ Ha! Oh Alec! We really don’t get enough of you in these first few episodes. He is not playing around when it comes to where Clary needs to be. And I really hate that no one backs him up. Because it will turn out he is more correct than any of them could have imagined.
Interesting that Alec doesn’t trust Clary or Simon but he has no trouble discussing the Circle with them. I guess proving a point beats being suspicious when you’re (the beautiful) Alec Lightwood. And I am here for it.
Magnus is sheer perfection. From looks to clothes to personality to demeanor, he just glows. Harry is such a magical, massive beautiful talent and I love that he got to shine so bright in this show. This show makes it so clear just how wasted he was on Glee. And how wasted he is, now, on Grey’s Anatomy. This man should be a leading man in Hollywood!!
Jace! All these years of living with the Lightwood’s and you never figured out that Alec thinks he is in love with you? Even with that Parabatai Rune (more info on that in a few episodes)? Dude, really??
I love that Clary finds her inner strength so quickly. I am definitely liking her so much better in this episode. Now if she would just slow down and let Alec and the others teach her how to be a Shadowhunter instead of thinking she has all the answers to a world she didn’t even know existed a few days ago!
It’s funny how much I love both Alec and Jace, even though they are complete opposites. But I understand them both, anyway.
Just when you think they can’t highlight just how pretty Matt is even more, they put him in this golden light. Making him look exactly like the Angelic being he is playing. Well done, Shadowhunters.
“I can’t be here, anymore.” Oh how I love Alec and his complete honesty!!
“It’s cute. You assume I have feelings. I don’t.” It’s a concept that is foreign to most mundanes, Jace. I get it, though.
“Never shuts up!” Alec is not having it with Simon. And oh gods, how I wish we had gotten more of these two interacting!
I love how well Izzy handles Alec. He can be dark and brooding and beautiful all he wants. Izzy isn’t having it and is going to have her fun.
Jace, Alec is making some really great points. I’m not saying to turn on Clary, but you need to show some caution. This girl shows up out of nowhere and now you find out she is the daughter of the man that is trying to destroy everything. It’s not out of the realm of possibility for something to be up. Caution, my guy. Listen to your (beautiful) brother!
Simon is kidnapped and you just know that Alec is blaming himself for that. Even though Izzy is the one that was with him.
Poor Simon!! Buddy, this is why we don’t follow people around like a puppy dog. You’ll learn, sweet Simon. Also, Hey Raphael!!
Episode 2 was a wild ride. Can’t wait to show you what 3 has for us. See you soon for Dead Man’s Party.
