Episode 13 Morning Star

This final episode of the season doesn’t slow down. Alec and Magnus face the fall out of the non-wedding. Jace goes off the rails, completely. Magnus faces his past. Simon is not the pushover from the beginning. Alec faces a brand new fear.

Alec, I am so proud of you for standing up to Maryse and defending Magnus.

Any Queer person whose coming out was anything similar to this, knows how terrifying and even impossible it can feel. To have to defend yourself to your family and friends, the people that are supposed to love you unconditionally, the people that are supposed to protect and defend you.

Once again, Alec is speaking on behalf of all of us that could not speak for ourselves in our own moment like this. Once again, Matt handles the moment beautifully and honors the Queer Community.

I love how Magnus recognizes, immediately, that Alec needs a moment to process all that just happened. The fact that it is Magnus that suggests that they slow down and start at the beginning is so powerful. The way Magnus is so tender and patient with him. Harry does a great job of showing the other side of this story. And, also, making the Queer Community so proud.

I love that both Magnus and Alec recognize what Lydia did for them. I love that they both go to her room to check on her. And I love that they are both concerned about her when they find her unconscious.

Jace is really running with this “He’s my father so I must be evil, too.” thing. Isn’t he!

Valentine is the worst kind of villain. Because he’s so damn good at it. Everything he says, you know it’s pure madness. But he has a way of saying things that make you think that it actually made sense. Grade A narcissist for sure.

Izzy is such a badass and I adore everything about her.

I love seeing Alec and Luke working together. They work well together. They just need to learn to pay better attention and not turn their back on the person they’re worried about.

You will stop loving someone. You can even get to a point where you can’t stand that person. But the pain that they caused you never truly fades. It gets absorbed into you and becomes a wall in the structure of who you become

Camille fascinates the hell out of me. She’s so cold and unemotional and conniving. I hate how she hurt Magnus. But I am thoroughly fascinated by everything else about her.

I am so proud of Magnus for telling Camille what he really thinks about the things that she has done.

Okay, Alec and Izzy, I love the hell out of both of you but you can’t walk in on something and assume you know what is going on. You need to let Magnus explain. Also, Alec, you’ve been kind of dick to Magnus since the wedding so you owe him.

I love confident and commanding Simon. The way he stands up to Camille is just gorgeous. I am so proud of how he is growing.

Valentine, you absolutely terrifying and genius psychopath! Look, Jace! You’re not the only one who can be unreasonably stubborn.

Jace!! You are not Valentine!

All of this insanity because he found out his father is a psyco and the girl he is in love with is his sister. So much for not being ruled by emotions, eh Jace…

Look at my guy, Alec! Rushing in to save Clary’s life, again. Even though she is not his favorite person, he’s still there for her.

Alec - Yeah. But what she said about you being immortal is right. You watch the people you care about age and die.

Magnus - Alexander, I may be the High Warlock of Brooklyn but even I can’t see the future.

Alec, my love, you need to listen to Magnus. Worrying about the future is a waste of time. Enjoy the time and love you have with Magnus, right now. That’s all that matters.

I love watching Magnus do magic!
