Episode 5 Moo Shu to Go

On this episode, most of the drama is between our little wanna be love triangle. Clary is still being selfish, Jace is thinking with the wrong head, and Alec is getting thrown under the bus for Clary’s choices.

Alec is right, Clary! You’re ruled by your emotions. That makes you reckless and selfish. You need to learn to temper them and think rationally.

You really have to admire Alec’s subterfuge, here. The fact that he was able to fool both Jace and Clary and get his hands on that necklace to lock it away is impressive. My man is fucking genius!!

Listen! Maryse may be acting cold and aloof, but I know a survival tactic when I see one. There is pain there, behind everything she does, and between her and her children. What they need is a good sit-down conversation!

Mind you, this doesn’t excuse her behavior in future episodes! But we’ll get there.

Yes, Clary - once again - Alec has very good to be irritated with you. Your rebellion is costing him so very much! Girl, I really need you to understand that there are so many more people involved than just you and your mom. I get it, I do. But you have to dial it down!

“You love me. I love you, too. We’re Parabatai, almost like brothers.”

Oh, Jace! For the love of the Angel, you cannot be this dense!! And that look brief look of hope on Alec’s face when Jace said he loves him. DEVASTATING!

Also, I am pretty sure Jace is on the Aromantic Spectrum, somewhere. Possibly DemiRomantic.

This hug, tho! You just know it is killing Alec. I really hope Jace is that dumb because I can’t bear the thought that he would hug Alec like this knowing that Alec thinks he’s in love with Jace.

Despite it all, Alec shows up and helps Clary train.

And how the hell Clary can look at that face and deceive it or lie to it or want to hurt it in anyway is beyond me!

I love this convo between Alec and Clary. It’s riddled with tension and distrust but it’s honest. Neither of them are trying to dominant or out do the other.

The only look we get of Magnus we get, this episode. But it’s such a fun scene. Alec and Magnus just get cuter and cuter each time they are together.

Let us not forget the iconic “Playing hard to get. I love a challenge.”

And once again, Alec sacrifices what he wants for what he feels is his duty. Putting Magnus off because Clary has disappeared on him. This girl! Let me tell ya!

You gotta give Clary credit, she keeps trying with Alec!

“Climbing a fire escape excites Mundanes. I’ll never understand these people.”

This scene cracks me up, every time. Grumpy Cat Alec has some really great lines. But then, I adore great sarcasm.

Oh how I love Archer Alec!

I am such a fangirl for vigilante archers. Alec makes such a great addition to this elite yet small group.

Jace, it’s really shitty of you to blame Alec for Clary’s rebellion. That girl is 18 years and responsible for her own actions! If she would have listened to him at the Institute, none of this would have happened!

“You know you can’t cast spells with that thing.”

Ha, oh Luke!! Dark humor is a favorite of mine!

I do love this moment between Clary and Alec. The first sign that they can be friends someday. I love that she takes the time to thank him. It means a lot.

I do enjoy this rescue scene. It’s nice when they all work together. And I hate when Alec and Jace fight. Especially over a girl. Don’t get me wrong, I love Clary - or I will eventually - but come on, guys! Get it together!

“Are you two okay?”

No, Izzy! They’re NOT okay! Jace is NOT thinking, right now! He’s being ruled by emotions. But this is our first clue that there is one thing that is more powerful than the Parabatai Rune… falling in love. And that’s a weird thing for an Asexual to say.

The drama continues in Episode 6. See you next time for Of Men and Angels.
